They can not handle rull range signals that well, even though most TVs offer a Full RGB setting. Plus: At least on Sony consoles the Auto setting tends to use the wrong RGB range.

On limited rgb, the black is the color 16 16 16, and the white is 235 235 235. In full rgb, those values are 0 and 255. You can have both ranges in any chroma subsampling you want. They dont produce the exact same result.
