A little over six months after its launch, Ubisoft has announced that it will shut down XDefiant, its free-to-play first-person shooter, in 2025.

Ubisoft's first-person shooter XDefiant, which launched less than six months ago with some success, will shut down on June 3, 2025. As part of that, the studio will close three production studios and lay off 277 employees.

Ubisoft have discontinued their PvP shooter XDefiant and laid off roughly 277 employees at the studios who worked on the multiplayer game.
