JCPenney's is closing seven stores by May 25, 2025. This comes four months after it announced closures nationwide. The department store will close some of its locations for good this weekend.

At the start of 2025, JCPenney merged with Forever 21 into a new company called Catalyst Brands, which is now also home to Brooks Brothers, Aéropostale, Lucky Brand, Nautica and Eddie Bauer.
