Many businesses in the Stark County area are participating. In downtown Canton, there will be a "Small Business Saturday Extravaganza" at the 4th Street Collective, 328 Walnut Ave. NE, where owners are invited to set up tables and represent their businesses. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. and will wrap up at 5 p.m.

Local small businesses are looking to make their end-of-year goals as Small Business Saturday kicks off Nov. 30. Vanessa Szwejbka, communications associate for the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, said over 200 small businesses, including shops, salons, restaurants and more, mean there is something local for everyone.

Small Business Saturday, which falls the day after Black Friday, is an annual event encouraging consumers to support locally owned retailers.
