Under Ohio law, political yard signs can't be placed in the public right-of-way, which often includes tree lawns. This only applies to roads outside of cities and other municipal areas, however.
Come Wednesday, campaign yard signs for this election cycle won’t be relevant anymore. But the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District says not to toss them in the trash can.
The yard signs never went up, and Americans became tight-lipped about their political beliefs. That, of course, was in the midst of the pandemic and the George Floyd riots.
That's because in 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled any law that restricts yard signs based on their content (for example, restricting only political signs) is unconstitutional.
