The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday reported that 2.6 million of the Stanley Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs sold in the U.S. are being recalled because "lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use, posing a burn hazard."

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said it received reports that lids on Stanley’s Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs detached during use.
