The confusion around Microsoft updates continues. Just as it releases the last Patch Tuesday of 2024, with a new zero-day amongst 71 vulnerabilities, it also warns 400 million users they risk losing access to future security fixes if they update their PCs.

Microsoft has announced a new Copilot app for Windows that it's calling "native" to Windows. However, the new native app still just displays the Copilot website. It does have a new quick view mode, which just displays the Copilot website in a smaller window frame than normal.

A new native version of the Copilot for Windows app is heading out to all Insider channels with a few new features.

The interesting twist to these Windows 10 numbers is the 400 million or so users that don’t have the right hardware to upgrade. While there are various options to upgrade on a non-compatible PC, Microsoft has just firmed up its warning that doing so could stop further updates and even invalidate any hardware warranties still in place.
