Microsoft has announced that despite the functionality being ready, it’s unable to launch an overhauled Xbox app on Android yet. The company blamed the delay on a “temporary administrative stay.” The overhauled app will let you buy and remotely play Xbox games via your phone.

A few weeks ago, Microsoft exec Sarah Bond said that in November, “players will be able to play and purchase Xbox games directly from the Xbox App on Android.” It’s almost December and the feature still isn’t live, but Bond says it’s not Microsoft’s fault.

Microsoft says its plans to let users buy and play games directly via the Xbox app on Android are being held up by a new legal issue.

Back in October, Microsoft announced that come November, it would be able to finally start selling Xbox games via its app on Android devices. This, as The Verge points out, has not yet happened. Now Xbox president Sarah Bond has taken to social media to lay the blame for this delay squarely at Google’s feet.
