双向可控硅 (triac) 是一种四层三端双向器件，正向为 pnpn，负向为 npnp，在“关断”状态下阻断电流，相当于一个开路开关。与可控硅 (scr) 不同，triac 可在单个栅极脉冲导通时双向传导电流。实际应用中，triac 主要工作在象限 i 和 iii，此时电流和电压的符号相同。
