A report claims Xiaomi is moving away from Qualcomm and MediaTek when it comes to its phone chips. As a result, the Chinese OEM may put its investments into creating phone chips in-house for its 2025 series.

According to a new report, Xiaomi will make its own chip for 2025 Android phones, a move similar to Google Pixel's Tensor chip.

A few years ago, Xiaomi attempted to do the same but abandoned the project after only releasing one model. Now, recent reports suggest that Xiaomi is working on resuming in-house chip design, including a 3nm chip aiming for 2025.
