Novak Djokovic fell in the final round of the Miami Open to 19-year-old Jakub Mensik in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6, on Sunday. Mensik, playing in his first final, earned his spot after defeating No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz in the semifinals and became the second-youngest champion in tournament history, per ATP Tour.

Heavy rain poured down on Hard Rock Stadium Sunday afternoon and there was lightning in the area, delaying the start of the Miami Open men’s final between 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and 19-year-old Czech newcomer Jakub Mensik.

Jakub Mensik will not compete at next week's Monte Carlo Masters. As was expected, the young Czech will take another week off the court after lifting his first ATP crown in Miami. Mensik will kick off the clay swing at the ATP 500 event in Munich.
