Connor McMichael and Dylan Strome scored a minute apart early in the second period, Logan Thompson made some spectacular stops among his 25 saves and the Washington Capitals beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven first-round series.

The Capitals continued their celebration of Alex Ovechkin Friday with their “Gr8 City Celebration” in Capital One Arena. Fans were treated with autographs from former Caps’ legends as well as real goats that fans could pet and take photos with.

The celebrations are just getting started for the Washington Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin after he secured his spot on top of the record books as the NHL’s all-time goal-scorer. Fans will get a chance to celebrate Ovi during a special fan event Friday at Capital One Arena.
